Rebel News is suing Elections Alberta, and a judge will hear the case on Monday, September 14th.
The court case is titled: Rebel News Network Ltd. v. Election Commissioner of Alberta and Chief Electoral Officer of Alberta, court file 2601-16399.
On July 24, their lawyer, Chad Williamson filed a 241-page formal complaint with Elections Alberta about Thomas Lukaszuk’s “Forever Canadian” group — the “remain” campaign in the October 19 referendum.
Forever Canadian is a registered third party advertiser. It has a Unity Bus touring the province. It has campaign offices in Edmonton and Calgary. Thousands of “CHOOSE UNITY” lawn signs. A concert in Hawrelak Park. And on September 1, Mr. Lukaszuk announced a free Jann Arden concert in downtown Calgary on September 20.
And according to Elections Alberta’s own public register, Forever Canadian has raised exactly $0.00. Every week since June.
